Gather ‘Round!
Halloween is over. There’s a chill in the air. Storefronts are steppin’ up their game. We all know what that means: the holidays are here! Yes, it’s that magical time of year when we all get together to spend time with those we (hopefully) love and care about. Time to sit in a room with tons of people, eating tons of food, exchanging gifts, you know the drill. But these gatherings require something very important…furniture! That’s where we come in.
Here at Furnish Green, we consistently have a great selection of dining tables large and small, and antique servers for those who really like to commit. We have a little bit of everything – large tables for those with big families and space to spare; petite and folding tables for the smaller gatherings; attractive servers for storage and buffet space; chairs up the wazoo. Yes, when it comes to the holidays, we have everything you need at Furnish Green.
And you’re just in time to save before your big get-together. Tomorrow, November 14th, we’re having a sale on all tables and servers! Take 23% off any eligible piece, but only on in-store and phone sales. So come on in to our showroom to get your hands on your favorite server or dining table! But if you can’t make it, you can always choose your favorite piece on our website and give us a call to place an order. See all sale items here (there will be an addition 23% taken off the price shown).
And since you’ll be saving some money on your tables and servers, you might as well buy some extra pieces to make your guests feel right at home.

Growing Selection of Vintage Clothing
We are now supplying the dresser in your bedroom and the clothes on your back!
Did you know…? Furnish Green carries a small selection of vintage clothing and our wardrobe is expanding! It’s true, we’ve got some cool, unique, even strange, pieces. From WWII 100% wool trench coats to mu mu dresses from the 1960s, Furnish Green’s vintage apparel is quite the mix of items. We recently got in some very classy and chic women’s winter coats! This is not so well-known. We would like to not only sell you a dresser, but also something to go inside it. We will clothe your bodies just as we furnish your homes, with special, unique, quality items. While the pieces are unique, they are not pricey. Everything, from outerwear to summer dresses, is priced between $5 and $10! Our clothing inventory is not available online so pop by the showroom to check out the pieces, and with Halloween just around the corner, who knows what you’ll find!

Design Collaboration
Furnish Green has partnered up with Krrb and Homepolish in a design project for the men’s clothing company J.Hilburn!
J. Hilburn is launching a pop-up shop on Wednesday, October 9th, that will be open for two weeks on Grand Street in SoHo and we have helped with the design and aesthetic of the store! We donated 9 pieces that will be on display and available for sale. The interesting variety of pieces, furniture as well as accents, will be shown until October 22nd. So, go and take a peek at the Furnish Green products in a totally new and different environment!
As Furnish Green customers, you will still be able to purchase these items through us. However, the pieces will not be physically yours until the 22nd.
We are very excited about the collaboration and the chance to see some of our beloved furniture in a new setting! See you there on the 9th!
Furnish Green’s Fall Fun Ideas
Fall Fun Framed by Furnish Green
Furnish Green instructs you to get outdoors this Fall season! While our rather petite New York City apartments are quaintly furnished to our taste (with Furnish Green pieces), we hope that you’ll take some time during this wonderful season to get acquainted with wood in its natural form, trees, and the joys of nature in general. We’ve got some suggestions for making the best of your outdoor leisure time, because while we hope that you truly love your Mid Century credenza, Victorian style sofa and Danish Modern coffee table, we hope you’ll enjoy these too!
Fall Fun Idea #1
The New York Botanical Garden – Bronx, NY
September 21 – October 31
“Experience the thrills and chills of the season with a garden full of intricately carved pumpkin sculptures, bugs, bats, parades, and more. New this year, the Haunted Pumpkin Garden features creepy creature encounters every weekend and the largest Spooky Nighttime Adventures trail ever!”
Fall Fun Idea #2
Central Park – New York, NY
Halloween Parade & Pumpkin Sail: October 27th, 4:00-6:30pm
“Wear your costume and bring a carved jack-o’-lantern before 5:30 pm for spooky music, crafts, live entertainment, a parade, and New York City’s largest pumpkin flotilla at twilight!”
Fall Fun Idea #3
The Cloisters Museum and Gardens – New York, NY
The branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. Adult tickets cost $25; fee includes same-day admission to the Main Building and The Cloisters museum and gardens. There is no extra charge for entrance to exhibitions.
Furniture by Abraham and David Roentgen: Now through January 26th
“Three significant loans from the Kunstgewerbemuseum, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin are on view alongside several other masterworks by the Roentgens from the Metropolitan Museum’s collection. The Berlin loans include the famous “Berlin Secretary Cabinet,” likely the most expensive piece of furniture in eighteenth-century Europe, which was made on speculation for King Frederick William II of Prussia and is traveling for the first time since its delivery to the king in 1779.”
Free Records in BK
We are giving away FREE RECORDS in McCarren Park in Williamsburg this Saturday, August 24th! We couldn’t wait to start our fall campaign, so we have put together a collection of over 300 records, from classical masterpieces to doo-wop and indie rock, and will personally be handing them out, I repeat, for FREE! We plan to start at 3:28 PM, yes, another Furnish Green style number, somewhere near the red brick building on the north side of the park. You will be able to flip through all of the vinyl and pick your favorite to take home with you! We ask that you only take one record though, so choose wisely! Tell your friends, bring some lemonade, maybe even a portable turntable, and we will see you in the sunshine!
Rhythm Break Cares
As we grow, we believe that it is important to give back to the community and support local charitable organizations. Rhythm Break Cares is a nonprofit that is closely connected to Furnish Green as our sister organization. Nathan Hescock, the founder of Furnish Green, and Hooba, our workroom manager, are part of the RBC team, serving as president and dance instructor. Because of these close familial ties, FG has given a lot of support to RBC and their mission over the years.
While Furnish Green enhances an individual’s quality of life through a lovingly furnished home, RBC enhances the quality of life of individuals with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers through dance. RBC uses a unique and effective dance therapy approach to address the widespread and immediate needs of local individuals with Alzheimer’s and associated dementias, as well as their caregivers. Capitalizing on the demonstrated benefits of music, movement and touch, the organization aims to improve the quality of life of each person involved. They hold a variety of sessions, offering social functions at their midtown dance studio, on-site events at dementia centers, private lessons and instruction for caregivers.
If you would like to join us in supporting Rhythm Break Cares and help to fund their important and life-changing activities, now is your chance. They are holding an online fundraiser with YouCaring.com from August 14th through October 15th. The fundraiser is called “Making Moments Through Music and Movement” and their goal is to raise $3,650.00. This amount will to enable them to cover the costs of travel, space rentals, specialized equipment, teacher training and instructor fees for several months. Click here to get involved!
“When you dance with someone, you get to interact with them and establish communication… People who don’t really communicate in any other way often open up once the music starts and we get moving.”
If you have any questions about RBC or the fundraiser, don’t hesitate to call the organization at 646.742.9014 or shoot an email to rbcares@gmail.com.
