Furnish Green at Chelsea Market
Furnish Green had a 2-week pop-up shop at the Artists & Fleas Chelsea Market location. Here are some photos of how it went down in case you missed it. Take a look!
Furnish Green at Chelsea Market
We’re doing something a bit different for the new year and taking the FG show on the road. Artists and Fleas of Brooklyn extended their indoor flea market to a large venue in Chelsea Market (the old Nabisco Factory on 15th St. and 10th Ave.), and we’ll be hosting a small pop-up version of the FG showroom with them from February 2 through the 15th. The pop-up will bring us down to street level for a couple of weeks and will feature an exclusive curated selection of accent pieces and home decor items.
We would love to see you there, whether you’re popping by to do some shopping or simply passing through to say hello. So come on out!
Reopening on Sundays!!
The Furnish Green showroom is now OPEN on Sundays from 10am-4pm! You are welcome to come peruse our inventory 7 days a week! Please note: If you purchase items on Sundays, you are not able to take furniture out with you as our freight elevator is closed all day. Only items that are small enough to fit in a shopping bag may be taken home on Sunday.
See you Sunday!
For your information:
Storage Policy: Items purchased in full can be stored with us for up to one week from your purchase date. You must either arrange for delivery or pick up piece prior to the end of the first week. A $30 charge will incur each week after the first week; customers will be charged automatically. It will be an IN-STORE-ONLY sticker sale, in which all inventory will be on sale with discounts ranging from 12%-60%. Holiday cocktails will be served and spirits will be high. The Village Voice – Best of 2014!!
We are very excited to announce that The Village Voice has awarded us the honor of “Best Antique Shop” in NYC for 2014! We would like to thank all of our customers for supporting us as we’ve grown as a company and for transitioning with us in our recent move down to the 3rd floor of our building.
Check out the write-up HERE.
Furnish Green & The Sketchbook Project
We are happy to announce a very cool collaboration! The Sketchbook Project of Brooklyn Art Library is hosting a pop-up shop, called The Supply Closet, at the Wythe Hotel Sunday, August 24th through Saturday, August 30th. We are very excited to have been able to provide some furniture and accent pieces for the event! Head to the space to peruse a well-curated selection of sketchbooks from the Library’s extensive stock and check out some FG pieces in a unique environment.
So we took a trip to visit the “Speakeasy” style pop-up shop, and it looks great! You can pick up some art supplies while browsing through an assortment of sketchbooks. And if you’re feeling creative, purchase your own sketchbook, fill it with ideas, and submit it to have a permanent home in the Brooklyn Art Library! The Sketchbook Project has realized a truly unique concept, so head to The Supply Shop at the Wythe Hotel and learn a bit about what they do and upcoming events they’ll be hosting.
We’ve moved.
As you may already know, our move is complete! We have transitioned into our new space on the 3rd floor (room 309), and we’re feeling pretty good about it. You’ll have to come on in and check out the fresh look and setup! Although all of the furniture has made its way downstairs, please bear with us while each piece finds its rightful home on the showroom floor.
Also, don’t miss our Grand Reopening Party on September 18th! It’s going to be a blast!
Follow the Furnish Green Move!
Hello all,
We have some very exciting news! We are going to be moving to the 3rd floor (Room 309) of our building in early August, and we want to share the transition process with you so you can be there every step of the way. The new showroom will be one cohesive space, and we will be able to design it so that we can provide you with the best possible shopping experience. The process has begun, we are going to have photo updates each week to show how the space is progressing, so stay tuned. We’re very excited and we hope you are too! (As the weeks progress, just keep scrolling down for the most recent updates.)
Week 1: Here are a few fun ones to start us off!
Week 2: And the construction (or deconstruction in this case) has begun!
Week 3: The walls are down!
Week 4: The space is starting to look super fresh! Check out those floors.
We will complete the transition next week and will therefore be closed on Thursday 7/31 through Saturday 8/2. Our apologies for the inconvenience, but there will be a 2-day online sale in which everything will be 24% off! So while the furniture makes its way to the new showroom, you can score some great discounts! The showroom (in the new location: Room 309) will reopen on Monday, August 4th.
A Trip to Hairroin Salon NYC
About a month ago, Janine Jarman, owner of Hairroin Salon in LA, came to Furnish Green for help in furnishing her new NYC salon in Herald Square. Janine has been the designer for both salon spaces with a preference for vintage furniture stemming from her parents’ work in the consignment furniture industry. Inn her search for reasonably priced vintage accent pieces, she did not expect to find Furnish Green, a vintage furniture store that is only three blocks away from the new salon. Convenient (and dangerous) as she explains it will only feed her addiction to vintage items and oddities.
The LA salon inhabits a space owned by Urban Outfitters, and when Urban decided to open their new Lifestyle Center store in Herald Square, NYC, they brought Janine and Hairroin Salon on board. The new space, once occupied by Conway, is now home to Urban Outfitters and Hairroin Salon, sharing the space with Intelligentsia Coffee and Amoeba Music.
The new Hairroin Salon is recently opened and is looking truly awesome with some Furnish Green pieces serving as fun accents (see them in action below)! It is large, open and industrial with exposed piping and raw unfinished walls. Janine wanted the space to have a similar aesthetic to that of her LA salon, while bringing in some new elements to differentiate the two locations. For example: Janine discussed her love for taxidermy (the stranger the better), and while both locations have it on display, LA features horned taxidermy and NYC features winged creatures like birds and butterflies. Acknowledging that taxidermy, to some, may seem a bit strange, she describes how the colors and textures seen in the butterflies and bird feathers serve as inspiration for the stylists.
She needed Hairroin to look like a hair salon while not wanting it to feel too much like the “typical” hair salon. Janine explains that they are artists, after all, and need a space that will be conducive to creativity. And she’s definitely achieved her goal, the place looks great! At Hairroin you will receive a unique salon experience in a unique space, where attention to detail is seen not only in each hair style, but also from floor to ceiling! Head to their Site to learn more about what they do.
